At Little Steps we believe that by helping our students give back to others and to their community, they learn kindness and compassion, and become better people.
When children participate in acts of kindness, it becomes contagious and spreads. It creates a sense of calm and helps reduce stress. Self-esteem and confidence rise, and it allows our children to realize that they are important members of their community and can truly make a difference in someone's life.
That's why we created Little Miracles. This program is taught in all of our classes and is designed to educate our students on the importance of giving back to their community.
Each school year our students will work together and donate to various types of charity programs, such as Treats for Troops, Stephen's Backpacks, Sponsor A Family, Senior Angels, and many more.
By teaching our children the value of giving rather than receiving, we are instilling in them a sense of pride and self-esteem, and reminding them that they should always be grateful for what they have.
